History of Boch
Boch Automotive has a rich history dating back to 1938, when Andrew Boch opened a repair shop. The following year, Boch opened his first store – Boch Rambler. From these humble beginnings, the family-run business would develop into the successful enterprise that it is today.
Andrew added a Nash dealership in 1945, and his son Ernie joined the business in 1948. It wasn’t long before the dealerships received both regional and national recognition. In 1958, Boch Nash led the country in sales. Posting top sales numbers became a staple of the Boch Automotive stores and a testament to customer satisfaction, as Boch Rambler, Toyota, Mitsubishi, and Kia would reach the #1 ranking in sales in New England during Ernie Boch’s tenure. In 1971, Boch acquired the Subaru of New England distributorship, and soon became the top Subaru distributor in the country in 1975. In the following years, Boch would open additional stores including Boch Oldsmobile, Boch New To You, and Boch Collision Center.
In 2003, Ernie Boch Sr. passed away, and his son, Ernie Boch Jr., took control of the company. As the new CEO, Ernie Boch Jr. continued to accrue accolades while bringing Boch Automotive to new heights. In 2006, Boch Honda became the #1 Honda dealer in sales on the planet, while other Boch dealerships continued to post top numbers throughout New England. With continued Toyota and Honda success, Boch Jr. brought the Boch name to Westford and North Attleboro, MA with the opening of Boch Honda West and Boch Toyota South.
In 2009, Boch Jr. entered into the luxury vehicle market with the acquisition of Ferrari and Maserati of New England. In 2015, to accommodate increased sales and production volume, Subaru of New England moved into a brand-new, state-of-the-art LEED Platinum Certified facility in Norwood.
2016 was an important year for Boch Automotive, with many dealerships reaching major milestones in their history. Boch Toyota celebrated 36 consecutive years as the #1 Toyota dealer in sales, in New England, while Boch Honda celebrated a decade of leading New England sales in the region. In 2017, Boch Jr. expanded Boch Automotive by adding Boch Chevrolet, Boch Hyundai, & Boch Nissan to the Automile in Norwood and Boch Nissan South in North Attleboro.
